Working Visa (一般就労ビザ)
The Working Visa is for foreign professionals with specialized skills who have been offered a job by a company in Japan. This visa is not for general labor jobs, but rather for roles such as,
- Engineers and IT professionals
- General Company Employees
- English teachers and instructors
- Interpreters and translators
- Researchers, legal/accounting professionals, designers, chefs (in certain cuisines), etc.
Eligibility Requirements
- University degree or equivalent professional experience
- Valid employment offers from a Japanese company.
- Job role must match one of the visa-approved categories
- Proof of employer's business registration and legal status
Visa Duration
- Typically, 1, 3, or 5 years
- Renewable if employment continues
